The chipset in this adapter, and also specifically the 8494-JP and 8494-WD models of this adapter, can be found on several lists of capture-capable adapters. However, I was not able to get this 8494-US model to perform full promiscuous capture in monitor mode - neither under Windows nor Kali Linux.
